Who we are

This store is operated by Elstena ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order or using this website you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Placing an order

When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when we send you a confirmation email. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock, if a price or description was published in error, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we refund it in full.

You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live in order to buy from us.

Prices and payment

All prices are shown in US dollars and include no hidden fees. Delivery is free, so the price on the product page is the price you pay before any applicable sales tax, which is calculated at checkout.

We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted.

Payment is taken at checkout through Shopify's payment providers. We do not see or store your full card details.

What we sell, and who makes it

We are an independent stockist. The products we carry are made by Hoygi. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent for them, and every product page names the maker.

Because we stock a maker's own product line, a carton may carry that maker's product name rather than the name we list it under. Where that is the case we say so on the product page.

Product descriptions and photographs

We describe our products as accurately as we can. We state the actives a formula contains, and a percentage wherever the maker publishes one. Where no percentage is published we say that rather than estimate.

Photographs are representative. Colors can look different from one screen to another, and packaging is updated by the maker from time to time.

The full ingredient list is printed on the carton. If you need to see it before you buy, email us and we will get it from the maker.

If a product arrives materially different from its description, that is covered by our refund policy.

Delivery

We ship to the United States only, free of charge, typically within five to fourteen days. The full detail is in our shipping policy, which forms part of these terms.

Refunds and the trial

Our 30-day trial is set out in our refund policy, which also forms part of these terms. In short: if a product is not right for you, we refund you in full and you keep the item. There are no returns to post back, at any price. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

These are cosmetics, not medicines

Everything we sell is a cosmetic. None of it is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing on this site is medical advice. We describe what a formula contains and what it is for. We do not tell you what it will fix.

If you have a skin condition, are being treated for one, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are already using a prescription topical, ask a doctor or pharmacist before adding anything new. Retinol in particular is usually advised against in pregnancy.

Using the products safely

Please follow the instructions on the packaging and the guidance on the product page.

Patch test a new product before it goes anywhere near your face. Put a small amount on your inner forearm or behind the ear and leave it a day.
Stop using anything that stings persistently, goes red, or itches. That is not a product settling in.
Keep products out of the eyes, and out of reach of children.
Anything working on tone or texture leaves skin more sensitive to sun. Wear sunscreen during the day while you are using it. We do not sell sunscreen: in the US it is regulated as an over-the-counter drug rather than a cosmetic, and we are not set up to meet that standard.
Introduce one new active at a time, and store products somewhere cool and out of direct sun.

We are not responsible for the consequences of use that ignores the instructions supplied with a product or the guidance above.

Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

Our content

The text, photographs, and design on this site belong to us or to our suppliers and may not be copied or reused commercially without our permission. You are welcome to share links to our pages.

Limits on our liability

We do not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
